Exquisite Corpse

This game was invented in the 1920s by a bunch of artists. Each player draws a different part of a body (human, animal, extraterrestrial, or something else) without seeing the other people’s drawings until the very end.

You need:

  • Pencils or pens
  • A sheet of printer paper folded into three or four equal parts
Drawing challenge example on a yellow piece of paper.

Here’s what to do:

instruct

1. Without showing anyone else, the first player draws the figure’s head on the first section. Mark a place for the neck on the second section, so the next player knows where to start. Fold that section backward so that no one can see the first drawing.

instruct

2. On the second section, the second player draws the torso and then marks the lines on the third section where the hips should be. Then the second player folds that section backward so that no one else can see it.

3. The third player draws the figure’s hips and legs and then folds that section backward so that no one else can see it.

4. The fourth player draws the figure’s feet.

5. Unfold the paper and see the creature you have created!
